I co-breed with Littlefoot Rattery where she keeps the females and I keep the boys.  We share the responsibility of raising the litters.

Our main line is bred 1 - 2 times a year, with other developmental litters we co-breed with other ratteries to reccover and preserve rare varieties.

Please join our WhatsApp sales group to receive updates on available litters and check back on this page to see when we plan litters. Alternatively, we will refer you to another ethical breeder or rescue.

This year we will not only breed our two cycles of pedigree litters, but we will also work on recovering and preserving rare varieties.  We aim to send these varieties to other ethical breeders and may possibly only continue with our own pedigree lines after 2026.

The price includes:

  • 500g dry mix per rat

  • A care guide

  • First parasite treatment

  • Well socialized and healthy rats, free from any abnormalities and of good weight.  (100-120g at 5 weeks)

  • Rats are correctly sexed and females are not pregnant.

  • Pups would have passed several temperament tests before they leave the rattery, making them suitable to be homed as pets.

Pet rats are sold with the agreement that they will not be bred.  If your intention is to breed, be honest and let us know in advance.  All the rats we sell are pet quality, but not all rats are necessarily breeding quality. When rats are sold for breeding purposes, a 5 generation pedigree and complete health and temperament record will be provided.

We appreciate if you update us on temperament, health and longevity so we may use the information to better our lines. You may also return an animal at any time, but please don't apply if you consider them to be disposable pets.  Returned rats will be pet placed or remain at the rattery.  They will not be euthanized.

Rats are sold in same gender pairs (R400) or trios (R500). Discount may be given for rats from the developmental line. (R100)

No single rats will be sold, even if you already own same gender / neutered rats.  It is best for the pups' development and socialization if they have a companion of the same age.

Rats will be homed at 6 weeks of age if you already have rats and with the agreement that you introduce them to your colony immediately.  If these will be your only or first rats, they will first stay with my adults for further socialization and go home at 7-8 weeks of age.

I no longer allow collection at my home, but will gladly do a video call so you can meet the parents and see the setup.  We may meet in a public area in Pretoria East or close to OR Tambo in Kempton Park if I ship pups to other provinces at the same time.
